We warmly welcome the Most Reverend Mark S. Rivituso, J.C.L., Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Louis, who will celebrate the 11:00 a.m. Mass this Sunday, April 24, at Saint Joseph Church and confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on members of our Parish and surrounding Parishes who are enrolled in the Saint Joseph Parish School of Religion Program.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that “Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds” (1316). On this special occasion, we pray for all those who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation that the Holy Spirit will strengthen them in their vocation as followers of Christ.
May I take this opportunity to thank all those who were involved in the preparations for the liturgical celebrations of Holy Week and Easter Sunday. A lot of work goes into helping contribute to their prayerfulness. Please be assured of the gratitude of all the members of Saint Joseph Parish.
