Parish School of Religion Classes
Sundays: 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. for Grades Pre (4 yrs.) – 8
Welcome to the 2022 – 2023 PSR registration!
Class Times: Elementary and middle school students will attend on Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:45.
PSR for the 2022-2023 school year will be offered in 3 different formats in order to best meet the needs of all families. All three formats will continue to utilize the Faith and Life series to maintain consistency of instruction to all enrolled students.
1. In-Person: Class will meet at St. Joseph from 9:30-10:45am on Sunday mornings. Beginning with a Family Meet and Greet in late August, 1st class the Sunday after Labor Day and ending in mid-May.
2. Home Study: Interactive online curriculum provided to be completed at home at your own pace.
Curriculum includes: audio readings of the textbook, videos, games, post lesson quizzes and
access to the PDF version of the student activity book. A pacing guide will be sent at the beginning of the year to help families plan their time accordingly. Progress will be monitored throughout the year to ensure completion of the necessary material.
3. Hybrid: A blend of in-person and home study options listed above. This is ideal for families who
desire in-person instruction for their children, but who may be involved in activities that frequently
take them away from Sunday class time. It will be the responsibility of the family to obtain
information from the catechist regarding which chapter was covered, either prior to or following an absence, and to complete the chapter online. Progress will be monitored throughout the year to ensure completion of the necessary material.
We will continue to have Family Days throughout the year, and all families regardless of format chosen are welcome to attend.
Registration will be sent out on Monday, April 25th providing 5 weeks for on-time registration. After May 31st, a late fee will be applied to each student registered. If there is an outstanding balance on your account, this ill need to be resolved prior to registering for the 2022-2023 school year. A $50 deposit per family will be required at the time of registration, this deposit is applied towards your family’s tuition.
For the upcoming year tuition has been increased about 5%, or $20 at each level, to account for rising costs of supplies and materials.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist: The preparation for these two sacraments takes place in 2nd grade typically. If you have an older student who has not made these sacraments, please let us know and we will accommodate families individually. Parents have a large role in their child’s preparation for these sacraments, it is therefore very important that a parent attends each of the parent meetings.
Confirmation: The preparation for this sacrament takes place during eighth grade. All students need to have attended religious education for at least a year prior to sacramental preparation. We will have a class on Sunday mornings that will include sacramental preparation, but please understand that we do not have enough time at PSR to complete all of the preparation for Confirmation, some of the preparation will need to be completed at home. If Our Lady of Lourdes parishioners wish to be Confirmed with Our Lady of Lourdes students, please register for Sunday class and notify Mr. Lang for this to be arranged. Students attending private Catholic schools begin classes in January and tuition is prorated, it is still necessary to register prior to January to ensure materials and space are available.
